EXPLORER PRO 26 EVOC BACK PACK - KIT TEST

Updated: Aug 11, 2019

Intro

The Evoc name holds a certain air of quality. With some fantastic products, like their bike bags that are pretty hard to beat. This Explorer Pro 26L looks the part that’s for sure.

With four colour options, the Heather Ruby was what was sent and it looks great. The Explorer Pro has more pockets and storage areas than I know what to do with. There is a long list of the best athletes being supported by evoc, its impossible to name them all but Danny MacAskill, Darren Berrecloth and Hannah Barns are but a few.

Technical Details

With many features to talk about, such as 'neutral load transmission', this is all about the shape and fit of the bag to the person. Evoc state that “body hugging” is the feeling from the wearing bag. The Explorer also features extra wide Hip wings with large zipper compartments, giving more room for that all important snack space. The addition of a Roll-Bottom for internal separation or volume adjustment, this Includes separate Wash Pouch. An adjustable torso length from 38 to 43 cm gives more options when getting the fit bang on.

Material: N420 D HD, 3D AIR MESH, AIRO FLEX 26L, 1250g, 27 x 48 x 19 cm

Feeling

The Evoc Explorer Pro 26 was something that I was excited to get my hands on. With more and more rides becoming adventures in recent times, it made perfect sense to want a bag that would hold the essentials and more. The large zipper compartments on the hip wings are a real treat. These were able to fit the items that you would not want to have to take the actual bag off for. Things like tyre plugs, allen keys or energy gels.

The belly straps and chest straps keep the bag exactly where you want it when taking on some technical descents. The bag did not get in the way whilst riding, even when carrying some extra weight like my camera with a spare lens.

The formed foam mesh-lined contact point to the rider, or 'Flow Contact System' makes for great back ventilation. This combined with the ergonomically designed foam gave super comfort and support.

From the metal clips to hold the straps in place, hardcore sturdy zips and the clean over-engineered stitching, this really is a quality bag. If I was to look into getting another I may go for the 30 ltr option for that little extra room.
